Strengthening

Confirmed Established — fromdocs/sources/demo/raw/AbilitiesRTS.AbilityConfig.json / DeployBunker, build 23882143

What it is

Strengthening is described as “Fortifies in place.” in build 23882143, with a 2-second cooldown. Its linked component changes between static and mobile states and records a terrain blocker. That supports a deployment function, but it does not establish an armour bonus or a period of invulnerability. The local Trench upgrade also uses the name Strengthening and is a separate record. Similar names are not enough to transfer the upgrade’s effects to this ability; compare their individual pages.

Where it comes from

The word “Fortifies” suggests fortification, but it does not link this ability to the Empire Bunker. That building costs 120 minerals, has 1 100 base hit points, 30 armour and an area-resistance coefficient of 0.6 in build 23882143. The coefficient 0.6 is not a measured reduction in splash damage. The Trench costs 10 minerals and builds in six seconds, but its local Strengthening upgrade is a different record. Treat these as comparisons of named objects, not a history of bonuses granted by this ability.

How it is actually used

Before fortifying, decide whether the position covers the route you need. For comparison, a Trench costs 10 minerals and has 200 base hit points, a 1 000-point reserve and 25 armour. The reserve of 1 000 and base health of 200 belong to the Trench, not to a bonus from this ability. Deployment parameters do not tell us how quickly an occupied position can react to a flank. Check the actual carrier and the Trench upgrade separately rather than treating every form of Strengthening as the same investment.

How to beat it

The mistake is to assume that a fortified object is permanently immobilised or automatically resists artillery. The linked component includes a mobile state as well as a static one. A Bunker’s area-resistance coefficient of 0.6 belongs to that building and cannot be assigned to this ability by resemblance. If a position can be bypassed, that may spare an attack, but the opponent’s ability to redeploy still matters. Identify the actual object and use its page to compare protection and weapons before choosing an approach.
