What it is
Airdrop has a brief official description: “A small detachment of infantry is landing.” The linked records in demo build 23882143 are more specific: they place three Riflemen squads and three AT squads after 7.4 seconds, with a 30-second cooldown and no use in fog. This is a mixed reinforcement call, not an unspecified body of infantry. The composition identifies what arrives, but it does not prove that the detachment wins against every vehicle force. Choose a landing area where both squad types can contribute and where the delay will not make the reinforcement irrelevant.
Where it comes from
The developer discussed the infantry squad model on 10 February 2026. Airdrop fits that context, but the announcement does not establish a universal faction advantage or an automatic winning composition. Its own linked spawn record contains three Riflemen squads and three AT squads, with a 7.4-second delay. That delay is a recorded arrival setting; it does not by itself prove that the opponent receives a warning before the landing. The squad composition and the visibility of the call are separate questions.
How it is actually used
Account for the 7.4-second delay before placing Airdrop. A contested flank, an exposed expansion or a captured objective may still need reinforcement when the squads arrive; a rapidly moving battle may not. The 30-second cooldown describes reuse, not how long the squads survive or whether the call is always available. Riflemen and AT squad together offer different weapons, so compare them with the actual opposing force. Do not assume the AT element is wasted against every economic target or that the detachment automatically stops an armoured attack.
How to beat it
Watch exposed expansions, objectives and the rear of your line for reinforcement calls. The recorded detachment combines Riflemen with AT squad, so the response should account for both infantry fire and anti-vehicle weapons. Its arrival setting is 7.4 seconds, but that is not proof of a visible warning available to the defender. Cover and supporting weapons may help; no source here establishes that any garrison automatically holds against the drop. React to the landing you observe and avoid treating the absence of a sector reach in the description as proof of unlimited reach.
