Checked against the Steam store on 17 August 2026, the release date field for Dust Front RTS reads “To be announced.” That was also the value in our earlier checks. We found no previously announced date or postponement in the official sources reviewed for this page.
The developer addressed the question himself, in the announcement of 10 February 2026, under the heading “When release?”. His answer, in full: “This question often pops up wherever the game is discussed. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to answer it until I make an official announcement regarding the launch date. As a developer, I’m not a fan of postponements. I have no interest in doing damage control in community or media if, for various unavoidable reasons, the date has to be moved. I prefer avoid it by design. And your waiting is cost free, mine is not.”
That is not evasion, it is a stated policy: he intends to announce a date only when it is safe to announce one. Any article, video or aggregator that gives you a year for Dust Front is not reporting, it is guessing.
The one piece of timing information he has given is negative. Explaining on 22 June 2026 why the demo would be taken down, he wrote: “The release of the main game is not as close as I would like it to be. I do not want people to overplay the demo and then find the main game less interesting.” That tells you the direction, not the distance.
There is also no roadmap. Across all seven of his official announcements, from April 2025 to June 2026, no development schedule has been published. He has been explicit about the communication rhythm too: “I won’t create artificial news cycles, at least not before release.”
What we will do here is simple. This page carries the date it was last checked. If a later check finds that the Steam listing no longer says “To be announced”, we will verify the announcement, update this page and date the change. Until then, the honest answer is the one above.
