Incendiary payload

Confirmed Established

What it is

Incendiary payload trades penetration for persistence, and the description says so exactly: “your shells now carry an incendiary payload that burns the landing site of the shell, at the cost of penetration.” Confirmed by the game files, build 23882143. ⛔ The module records damage penalties and an environmental-duration modifier. What can be checked is the target: every entity on this site publishes its fire resistance, but that value alone does not establish whether the trade pays without the application formula.

Where it comes from

Burning ground has been in this game’s design since the 2025 devlog, which the developer summarised as covering “landscape destruction, surface burning, the enhancement (blueprints) system and more.” Confirmed by that announcement. He then tuned it in the demo patch notes of 22 June 2026, where garrisoned units “no longer die from environmental damage (flame, gas)” — so cover is a real defence against exactly this module.

How it is actually used

Compare fire resistance rather than deriving final damage from it. The Mutant Construction crane records 0.3, while the other faction buildings record 0.7. Most Empire structures record 0.98 or 1.0; these raw values alone do not establish damage taken or immunity. The module records a vehicle-damage penalty, so compare its trade with the weapon’s job and admitted target and weapon types. Eleven of twelve Mutant buildings record 0.7, with the crane below that value. This describes the fields, not a tested ranking of targets.

How to beat it

Two considerations follow the sources. The patch note of 22 June 2026 confirms that garrisoned units no longer die from environmental damage. The module also reduces the vehicle-damage field while its description names a penetration cost. That does not prove a burning shell cannot affect any vehicle or that armour removes its entire effect. It is one of nine descriptions naming a trade. Consider both cover and army composition with the target’s resistance, without claiming a guaranteed counter. Our interpretation.
