What it is
Gas payload is the only module in the files that describes a second interaction on top of its own effect: “your projectiles now have a gas charge slot. A gas cloud appears in the area of effect, suffocating enemies. The gas can be detonated.” Confirmed by the game files, build 23882143. ⛔ Damage penalties and an environmental-duration modifier are recorded. The detonation trigger and runtime effect have not been established in this review.
Where it comes from
Gas is a damage type with its own resistance field on every entity, and the values are extreme at both ends: −1.0 on the Mutant concrete eater, a negative raw value, against 1.0 on more than thirty entries. Confirmed by the game files, build 23882143. Those fields distinguish targets, but do not by themselves prove the final damage or immunity without the application formula. A negative field is not a runtime damage measurement.
How it is actually used
Compare the target’s recorded gas resistance first. The Mutant Big collector at -0.5 and Giant at −0.5 provide negative-value comparisons, while Empire structures record 0.9 and 1.0. These values alone do not prove final damage, immunity or the best target. The detonation trigger and runtime effect have not been established here. This is one of eleven descriptions without a stated cost, but the effect fields record the same vehicle- and building-damage penalties as the incendiary load. Check compatibility and the whole trade.
How to beat it
Compare army composition and the targets’ gas resistance without treating a raw coefficient as a proven damage percentage. Values are published on the relevant fiches. The detonation trigger and runtime effect have not been established in this review. Many Empire structures record 0.9 or 1.0, while the Mutant catalogue includes values from −1.0. That is a field comparison, not proof that one faction is least troubled by gas. Our interpretation requires the weapon, compatible modules and final damage rules.
