Damage per second = damage ÷ fire cycle, computed by the build script.

What it is

Flamethrower tank costs 200 minerals and 20 population. Its official role is “An armored flamethrower vehicle. Its stream flamethrower constantly ignites the surface. High durability, low mobility.” Demo build 23882143 records 650 base hit points, frontal armour 65 and side/rear armour 15. That directional difference does not translate directly into a percentage of protection lost when turning. The linked flame attack cannot fire while moving, and the unit’s access conditions include Foundry. Give it a useful firing position and check the approach against its low-mobility description. Terrain ignition and direct weapon damage should be considered separately when comparing it with the flamethrower carrier.

Where it comes from

The 2025 devlog covered “landscape destruction, surface burning, the enhancement (blueprints) system and more.” The update of 22 June 2026 then said garrisoned units “no longer die from environmental damage (flame, gas)”. These sources confirm that surface fire is a mechanic and that its interaction with garrisons changed. They do not establish a universal burning duration or immunity of buildings to the tank’s direct attack. The tank’s description supplies its terrain-ignition role, while the weapon data records its firing settings. Read the environmental-damage page and the target’s protection before treating a burning approach as permanently blocked.

How it is actually used

The weapon’s calculated infantry output is 369.2 damage per second. The tank costs 200 minerals; Flamethrower turret costs 150, and Bronenosets 700. A correction dated 4 September 2026 concerned the earlier output ranking: a Bronenosets cannon records 500, without treating every weapon as interchangeable. These are individual weapon figures, not a universal choice between the chassis. The tank’s base range 10 and modifier −4 also matter. It cannot fire while moving, so choose a position with a useful approach and consider the threat before relying on a close flame attack.

How to beat it

Rear armour is 15, which gives a different target angle from the front without proving a guaranteed flank kill. The calculated vehicle output is 46.2 damage per second, and base health is 650. Do not turn those fields into a claim that the tank cannot fight vehicles or survives no direct fire. Its low mobility and stationary firing requirement are useful constraints to assess when manoeuvring around it. Compare the actual weapon reach and support on each side. The armour and fire pages explain why facing and terrain matter without guaranteeing a particular retreat or attack.
