Damage per second = damage ÷ fire cycle, computed by the build script.
What it is
The P-2 is the Empire’s interceptor: 250 minerals, 15 population, 24 seconds. The official description sets its job precisely — “interceptor. Heavy machine guns can deal with any aerial target.” The files describe something fast and fragile: 240 hit points with 50 in reserve, and 2 armour, the same as unarmoured infantry. Its guns do 70 damage to infantry, 50 to vehicles and 3 to buildings on a 0.8-second cycle, which is 87.5, 62.5 and 3.7 damage per second. It fires while moving. Confirmed by the game files of build 23882143.
Where it comes from
The P-2 is the Empire’s half of an exchange the developer named directly on 10 February 2026, when he listed aircraft as one of the three answers to artillery — alongside counter-battery fire and heavy losses. Confirmed by that announcement. Its damage profile is the other half of the story: 62.5 damage per second against vehicles and 3.7 against buildings means it was not built to besiege anything. It was built to reach something that thought it was out of reach.
How it is actually used
The P-2 is a scalpel with 240 hit points, and it dies to anything that notices it. Use it on artillery and on other aircraft, which is where its 62.5 damage per second against vehicles goes furthest — an enemy Dreadnought has no listed answer to it at all. Do not send it at buildings: 3.7 damage per second is a rounding error against a structure. And do not park it. Its area resistance is 0.0, shared with the flamethrower carrier, the Vortex and the transport, which means splash weapons hit it with nothing taken off — we report the value rather than convert it, since the scale is undocumented. Our reading.
How to beat it
Anything anti-air ends it. With 240 hit points and 2 armour, the P-2 has no capacity to absorb a mistake — the Renegades’ Pickup, a 60-mineral scout carrying a heavy anti-aircraft machine gun, is already a threat to it. Splash is the mathematically best answer given its zero area resistance, but the simpler truth is that the P-2 loses to volume: it has to come to you, and it cannot survive concentrated fire long enough to finish an expensive target. Keep your artillery inside a defended envelope rather than hunting the aircraft. Our reading.
