What it is

Maintainability applies to the Combine. Its short English description states: “If the combine is damaged, it can be repaired.” The source is build 23882143; research costs 500 minerals. The raw configuration contains a research creation-time field and contains a non-empty new-death-prefab reference. The repair wording therefore does not automatically promise ordinary free repair of every damaged vehicle. Read this alongside Emergency call, which opens a different replacement route, and the actual repair components. The precise recovery mechanism must be distinguished from the description’s summary.

Where it comes from

The Combine costs 100 minerals, with 500 base hit points and 15 front armour, from build 23882143. Its HP component records 50 extra hit points rather than the previous incorrect reserve figure; base health remains 500. These are separate defence fields, not a guarantee that the reserve becomes available after any damage. Maintainability has a new-death-prefab reference, so its mechanism should be distinguished from ordinary BREM support. The practical task is keeping harvesting vehicles available or enabling their recovery.

How it is actually used

Maintainability and Emergency call describe different routes to maintaining the worker fleet. The latter supplies another Combine when factory ordering is unavailable; the former concerns maintainability and a new-death-prefab reference in the raw configuration. The BREM exists separately at 100 minerals, with 500 base hit points and 25 armour. Its repair parameters must not be declared absent merely because the research description omits them. Our advice is to inspect recovery conditions, available support and the safety of the recovery position before treating both purchases as equivalent or mandatory.

How to beat it

Maintainability does not make the Combine invulnerable or prove that every non-lethal attack becomes worthless. Scout where damaged or destroyed workers remain and whether the opponent can safely recover them. The Combine’s front armour is limited compared with heavy equipment, but kill time depends on the actual attacking weapon. Our advice is to assess whether an attack can be completed and whether the recovery area can be controlled. We do not declare repair price or speed absent from all source files based only on the research description.
