What it is
Barricades trades mobility for protection according to its description: “Additional barricades are erected around the turret, increasing its survivability. The ability to move the turret (if any) is lost.” This is recorded in build 23882143. The wording “(if any)” qualifies the mobility loss; it is not a complete list of eligible turrets. A linked component explicitly removes a movement ability from the mobile machine-gun turret. The upgrade has a mineral cost and an installation time, so fixed placement does not make it free. Its precise durability change requires the relevant component behaviour rather than an assumption that every turret with a similar name receives the same bonus.
Where it comes from
The mobile machine-gun turret is published as AK-30, with the description “A versatile turret capable of engaging infantry and shooting down low-flying enemy aircraft. It can be moved.” It costs 130 minerals and has 600 base hit points with 25 armour in build 23882143. The linked Barricades component removes that AK-30 movement ability. This is evidence for lost relocation, not for a refund of population or removal of every other ability. For the AK-30, the value of relocating depends on terrain and coverage; the source does not establish that mobility is its sole useful property or that fortifying it is always a mistake.
How it is actually used
The AK-125 costs 200 minerals and the flamethrower turret 150; their fixed placement does not establish that Barricades is free or available to both. The AK-30 has a directly linked movement-removal component, so fortifying that mobile turret has a documented relocation cost. The flamethrower turret’s 1 400 base hit points and 50 armour are a comparison of the original building, not a barricade bonus. Check eligibility, local upgrade price and the actual durability change before weighing a fixed defence against a movable one.
How to beat it
A turret whose movement ability was removed cannot relocate through that ability, so consider routes outside its coverage. The flamethrower turret stores base range 10, but range modifiers matter too. Fortifying an AK-30 does not make its weapon harmless. For comparison, the AK-125 stores range 27.7 and a separate bonus of 15; those are weapon fields, not a coverage measurement for every barricaded turret. Identify the eligible host and its actual weapon before choosing a bypass. The loss of movement changes position, not automatically firepower or population cost.
