Aim the arrow

Confirmed Established — fromdocs/sources/demo/raw/AbilitiesRTS.AbilityConfig.json / CraneSetDir, build 23882143

What it is

Aim the arrow directs the Construction crane’s boom toward a selected unit. It is a control of orientation, not a documented increase in repair output. The linked component contains working range, boom rotation speed, hook speed and boom-length bounds. Their scale is not sufficiently established here to convert them into travel times or a productivity bonus. The ability’s targeting range is a separate setting. Check the crane’s repair and construction functions on its page rather than assuming that facing a target always makes it work faster.

Where it comes from

The official description is “The crane directs the boom in the direction of the specified unit.” It names the crane and its boom rather than defining a general work toggle. The linked component gives details about the boom’s movement, which should be distinguished from the BREM’s Repair entry: that separate component restores 40 hull points per half-second cycle. The crane’s motion parameters do not supply the same repair rate. Compare the Construction crane and BREM pages for their respective roles; a shared support purpose does not make orientation and repair the same command.

How it is actually used

The Construction crane costs 230 minerals, 120 energy and 50 gears. A separate local upgrade installs a smaller crane for 100 minerals and ten seconds. Those costs do not establish an equal function or a shared working radius. Aim the arrow gives control of the boom’s direction, while its linked movement parameters are not a measured productivity bonus. Check the selected unit and the crane’s placement, then compare the full crane and local upgrade pages before treating them as substitutes.

How to beat it

The mistake is to infer faster repair from a boom facing the target. Rotation and hook settings exist, but the inspected link does not establish a damage window or a time saving that can guide an attack. On 22 June 2026, key rebinding was described as “already listed as in development”; that does not identify this command’s shortcut or prove that every binding will change. This page uses build 23882143. For a combat decision, consult the Construction crane’s protection and repair functions; for a control problem, check the selected unit in the interface.
