What it is

Drone squad has the official description “The lightest unit for robotic escalation missions. Armored, relatively fast, with two drones per squad. Highly effective against infantry.” It costs 90 minerals and 5 supply in demo build 23882143. Armour and effectiveness against infantry are described roles, not measured protection or damage values for this entry. Its archived configuration lacks a linked combat prefab, so the drones’ weapon and health cannot be established through that link. Read the Light Infantry Workshop page for the faction’s infantry role, and keep squad composition separate from a claim that every drone has an independently measured attack.

Where it comes from

The developer’s in-game description states the squad’s intended infantry role: “The lightest unit for robotic escalation missions. Armored, relatively fast, with two drones per squad. Highly effective against infantry.” Build 23882143 preserves that description together with a unit price, rather than a linked combat model. Robotic Escalation is a label in that description; it does not establish an equivalence with the separate Travelers faction record. The Drone collector has a different economic job despite a comparable supply requirement. Read both descriptions before confusing a collector drone with the armed squad.

How it is actually used

The description specifies “two drones per squad” and calls the squad “Armored”. Those statements do not establish a firing cycle or an armour number. For price context, Drone squad costs 90 minerals; Empire Brutes cost 35 and have a combined base-and-extra health capacity of 1 900. The heavy-duty unicycle in the Rebels catalogue costs 50, with 240 base health and an extra capacity of 50. Extra capacity does not mean a full starting reserve. These linked rivals offer comparisons, but their protection and damage cannot fill the missing Drone squad measurements.

How to beat it

The player’s unresolved question is how to fight an armoured anti-infantry squad without a measured weapon or protection profile. The earlier archive reading of 31 August 2026 cannot answer it with a battlefield result. The description supports the intended infantry role; a missing prefab link supports a limited statement about the archive. It does not prove that the squad cannot be damaged or that an armoured opponent will win. Compare the infantry pages for documented attacks and wait for evidence specific to these drones before selecting a numerical counter.
