What it is
Worms cost 15 minerals and 3 population, with a five-second production time. Their health record has 900 base hit points, reserve capacity 50 and uniform armour 2. The description states “Mutant food and assault potential all in one. They quickly mow down infantry if they can get close enough.” In build 23882143, the raw attack component contains damage fields even though the generated weapon list omits this attack class. That omission must not be read as a lack of attacking capability. The approach condition in the description remains useful; neither health nor low price guarantees that Worms reach infantry safely.
Where it comes from
The developer’s 10 February 2026 announcement describes corpse recycling: “mutant corpses spawn flies—a free but weak unit that can effectively attack enemy units of any type. Some corpses can create swarms of worms in large numbers, essentially serving as the mutant faction's standard infantry.” The recorded purchase price of Worms is 15 minerals, while corpse-generated units belong to a different creation route. The announcement does not say that every corpse creates the same unit, or that every battlefield continuously produces Worms. Their own configuration and linked spawners establish named sources of this unit. Keep those sources separate from an assumption that buying, summoning and corpse recycling all share the same costs and limits.
How it is actually used
The combined health capacity is 950, and the description qualifies their infantry role with “if they can get close enough”. The attack component confirms that the weapon-list omission is a catalogue limitation, not proof of harmlessness. Positioning behind a larger Mutant body may help the approach when it draws the defenders’ attention, but it is a conditional plan rather than a promise that Worms will reach buildings. Account for their movement and close approach before committing. A maximum reserve capacity is also not the same as a filled health pool when the unit appears.
How to beat it
Worms record fire coefficient −0.7 and area coefficient −0.2, but their negative signs do not establish a damage multiplier or an automatic flame counter. Their 900 base hit points and 15-mineral purchase price also do not prove that small-arms fire always fails economically. The specific problem is allowing the described infantry attack to close. Contest the approach with weapons that can reach the group and consider the supporting unit drawing your fire. Destroying that support may expose Worms, but does not turn off every independent spawn or corpse-creation route.
