Damage per second = damage ÷ fire cycle, computed by the build script.
What it is
Battle Ball costs 200 minerals and 8 population. The developer describes it as “A lightweight hot air balloon flying at medium-low altitude. Armed with a rocket launcher for firing at ground targets.” Confirmed in game build 23882143. It has 150 base HP, 50 extra-HP capacity initially empty, and uniform 2 armour. Its prefab links an airborne movement component and a cannon-class rocket attack. The attack record also contains burst-shot settings, so a simple damage-per-cycle figure does not describe every detail of the salvo. The Aircraft pit's production list explicitly includes this configuration.
Where it comes from
The official phrase “medium-low altitude” describes the balloon's altitude; it does not explain its damage resistance or prove a particular sight radius. In build 23882143, the linked airborne movement component is consistent with the aircraft description, and the hull records area resistance 0.00. That coefficient should remain separate from the altitude claim. The rocket attack and the Aircraft pit production link provide concrete reasons to treat this as an airborne ground-attack unit. They do not establish that it is immune to ground weapons or that it has a dedicated scouting bonus.
How it is actually used
The rocket record has a 5.5-second derived aim-plus-reload cycle and 18.2 simple derived vehicle DPS. At 200 minerals, it is an option for ground attacks from an airborne unit rather than a demonstrated answer to every armoured target. The corresponding infantry figure is 16.4. These calculations use damage and cycle fields; the raw attack also records a burst, so do not multiply the displayed figures into a promised sustained output. Keep the balloon away from weapons able to engage aircraft, and check the target's movement and protection before committing it.
How to beat it
Uniform armour 2 and area resistance 0.00 describe the hull, but do not define how many incoming hits will destroy it. Losing the balloon also loses its 200-mineral investment. Fire resistance 0.80 and gas resistance 0.40 are separate stored coefficients, not a reason to equate those damage types. The official description says its launcher attacks ground targets, so aircraft-capable weapons are the relevant starting point when choosing a response. Check their own target rules and range rather than assuming any nearby unit can reach the balloon or win automatically.
