Additional Generators

Additional Generators opens the generator extension and gives the MSC a portable generator. The English description covers both: “Access to the generator extension is now available. The MSC also receives a portable generator, which provides a starting reserve of grid power.” The source is build 23882143, and research costs 1 400 minerals. For scale, compare Armored infantry at 1 300, rocket and siege research at 1 500, and Macroeconomics at 3 000. These prices do not establish a complete ranking or an unlock sequence. The research price, the cost of each extension and the starting power reserve described for the MSC are separate aspects of the upgrade.

The extension costs 70 minerals and ten seconds for 100 energy; the Power station costs 150 minerals and fifteen seconds for 250, from build 23882143. The extension is cheaper and faster in this specific pair, but supplies less power. Its area-resistance coefficient is −0.5. We retain that negative parameter without converting it into a verified damage multiplier. The comparison does not exclude other generators, and construction speed alone does not establish which building best fits every power shortage.

The starting reserve on the MSC and access to extensions are separate benefits described for this research. Each extension costs 70 minerals and ten seconds, allowing smaller additions to the grid. Our advice is to consider the upgrade when energy regularly delays the production chain you intend to use. The research must still be paid for first. It does not follow that the main generator becomes unnecessary: required output, available space and protection can change which generator makes sense.

An opponent with the upgrade can replace some power supply through extensions at 70 minerals and ten seconds each. Their defence records an area-resistance coefficient of −0.5 and 100 base hit points. That is reason to inspect their position, not proof that one artillery shell destroys each one. Nor does construction time establish whether rebuilding beats your army’s return journey. Our advice is to connect attacks on power with continued pressure and check whether the outage actually disables the targets you care about.
