What it is

Siege Howitzer changes the Dreadnought’s equipment: “The dreadnought's turret is being replaced with a heavy howitzer platform.

Can't fire on the move.” In build 23882143, installation costs 200 minerals and five seconds; the price is a configuration field, not part of the description. A linked replacement component points from the Dreadnought prefab to the Bombarda prefab. The resulting unit has its own weapon records, so it is incorrect to say the extraction contains no damage or range for the replacement. Consult the Bombarda page and distinguish its weapon data from the Dreadnought’s ordinary configuration.

Where it comes from

The Dreadnought costs 700 minerals and ninety seconds, with a calculated anti-vehicle output of 125 damage per second for the recorded projectile weapon in build 23882143. Those figures describe the starting unit, not the damage of the Siege Howitzer replacement. The raw replacement component links to the Bombarda prefab, whose own configuration and weapons provide the next comparison. The Artillery position ability is a separate entry; its existence does not prove that this upgrade is simply a permanent version of the same switch.

How it is actually used

The movement limitation “Can't fire on the move” is the documented trade for a machine that initially costs 700 minerals. The Dreadnought’s stored area-resistance coefficient is 0.5; that parameter alone does not establish how much artillery damage it receives. The replacement links to Bombarda, so use the resulting unit’s own weapon records to assess reach, damage and movement. A ninety-second, 700-mineral starting investment makes equipment choice consequential, but it does not prove an optimal timing or that the replacement is identical to the separate artillery-mode ability.

How to beat it

The description says the replacement cannot fire on the move, so forcing repositioning is a tactical possibility rather than a developer-published guarantee. The starting Dreadnought has an area-resistance coefficient of 0.5; that does not justify a blanket instruction to avoid artillery. Its ordinary projectile record has calculated anti-vehicle output 125, which must not be assigned to the replacement. Consult the Bombarda’s actual weapons and minimum range, and compare the terrain and escort before attempting to close from an angle.
