What it is
Repair Expansion describes an exchange from a construction crane to a heavy repair vehicle: “In exchange for a crane, you get a Heavy Repair Vehicle, which provides a small construction square, repairs equipment well, and can change its location.” The source is build 23882143, and research costs 2 000 minerals. The Empire Construction crane separately costs 230 minerals and forty seconds. The description promises a small construction area, vehicle repairs and relocation. It does not prove that every crane function transfers unchanged: the additional production queue and construction area must be checked separately. The mineral price is only one part of the infrastructure commitment.
Where it comes from
The Empire Construction crane takes forty seconds to build and has 500 base hit points with 7 armour, from build 23882143. The upgrade describes replacing that static support with a mobile repair vehicle. The Mutants have their own Construction crane at 230 minerals and the same build time, but that is a different entity and does not establish an identical exchange. Compare the infrastructure tasks separately: an extra queue, construction area, repair capability and mobility are not interchangeable attributes.
How it is actually used
The phrase “small construction square” promises a limited construction area on the new vehicle. That may help move infrastructure forward, but does not establish an equal area, extra queue or unchanged durability. The crane at 230 minerals is a static alternative; its area-resistance coefficient of 0.0 cannot supply a damage calculation without a verified formula. Our advice is to choose the exchange when moving construction and repair solves a concrete problem, then check which crane functions are lost with the replacement.
How to beat it
After Repair Expansion, construction and repair support can move nearer the front. Scout for the heavy repair vehicle and check which infrastructure it supports. Destroying that support may interrupt a position, but the upgrade description does not establish that the vehicle is necessarily easier to kill than a crane. Our advice is to assess its escort, escape routes and relationship to the advancing army. This is a positional recommendation, not a promise that all forward construction disappears after one attack.
